Upcoming events

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Warm temperatures are returning (even if only for a day here and there). Time to consider joining us in upcoming rides! We’ve updated the ride calendar, so take a look. Here are April and May’s entries.

April 13th - 10:00 am. Traveler’s Prayer, Coleman’s PowerSport, Falls Church VA. Click here for map/address. There may be some media coverage from PBS’s “Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly” so we’d like as many people as possible to attend! We’ll have a short ride (about 90 minutes) afterwards, ending at a restaurant near our start point. (not kosher)

May 4th - Virginia Holocaust Museum, Richmond. For full information, see this entry.

May 18th - We have been invited by the Star of David Bikers to join them in the Philadelphia Israeli Day Parade. The festivities are from 12 - 5 pm. Betsy will be organizing The Tribe’s participation. Please let her know if you plan to attend. If you don’t have her direct email address, email us at: info@thetribemc.com and we’ll pass it on. See this flyer for more information.

May 22 - 25. Ride to Remember, Omaha, NE. Please get your registrations in now if you haven’t already done so!

Get information emailed to you automatically

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

If you’d like to get information that is posted to this website emailed to you, we set up a simple feed to do so. If you look down on the right hand column, there is an entry called “Feeds” If you click on the “E-mail Feed” link, you’ll be asked to provide your email, and type in some text to prove you aren’t a spammer. (Sorry, it’s built in the system, I can’t remove that). You will then receive an email message asking if you really meant to subscribe to the feed. (Prevents you from signing up other people without their consent). After that, you will start receiving messages when they are posted here. You only receive one email per day (on days something is posted), somewhere around 7 pm, Eastern Time.

However, changes to entries, and changes to pages, such as the calendar, are not emailed out, so you may still want to check back here once in a while.

Also, we’d like to remind people again, if you met us at the DC Motorcycle show and gave us your email address asking for further information, future events listings, etc., the list was unfortunately lost in a house fire. Please sign up for the email feed, or contact us directly at info@thetribemc.com.

Look for our ad!

Monday, March 10th, 2008

With a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, we were able to place an ad in the recent (March/April 2008) issue of the Winding Roads Motorcycle Times. You can find this publication free in almost any motorcycle dealer. Our ad is on page 5.

Ride to the Virginia Holocaust Museum, May 4th

Monday, March 10th, 2008

The Tribe MC will have a ride down to the Virginia Holocaust Museum on Sunday, May 4th.

We will meet (location TBD) and depart at EXACTLY 7:30 am. So please arrive early with a full tank of gas. People who are late will need to meet us in Richmond. A few Jewish riders in Richmond will meet us on the highway and escort us in to the museum.

After touring the museum, we will have (Kosher!) boxed lunches. You can choose from the following ($12 each):

Corned beef sandwich, grilled chicken, protabella, eggplant, or tuna fish.

Includes side item, danish and drink.

Because we have reservations for a tour, as well as a meal, there is no rain date. If very bad weather is expected, we will carpool down.We will need RSVP and money for the lunch by the day after Passover. Exact details are still being worked out, but checks will need to be sent to Henry. Because of tour restrictions, the group will be limited to the first 20 people who reserve. Please send reservations to info@thetribemc.com, and in the subject of your email, include “VA Holocaust” so we will be able to file it appropriately.
